What is a belt pouch and how it works:
As the name suggests, a belt pouch is a pouch that is used to hold valuables, which can be carried on the belt. The belt pouch may be found in the form of a drinking bottle and belt pouch, a compact radio holder or a mobile phone holder.
What to look for while buying a belt pouch:
The typical belt pouch is made of leather, and has two wide loops on the back with which you can slide the pouch on to the belt. The belt pouch may have a large inside compartment, with an additional zippered compartment on the outside. The leather used in most belt pouches is the same leather that is used in making handbags and are usually built to be used in belts of width 1 ¾” to 2”.
The compact radio holder belt pouch comes with an additional adjustable retainer cord, strong belt loops and elasticized sides with 360 degrees swivel action. These belt pouches fit most radios, including Motorola radios. The drinking bottle and belt pouch comes with an aluminum drinking bottle and nylon belt pouch; just right when going trekking, hiking and cross country cycling.
The mobile phone belt pouch comes with padding to provide added protection to your mobile phone. They have loops that fit securely to the belt, without any chance of falling off. The additional Velcro covers prevent the possibility of the phone falling out when traveling.
The utility ammo belt pouch is made of durable nylon, with secure closures. This is the perfect belt pouch for holding ammunition, field glasses, paintball, etc. These belt pouches attach to belts through unique belt loops and clip attachments.
What to avoid:
So it can be seen that you have to buy your belt pouch depending on how you intend to use it. There is no point in buying a delicate belt pouch for holding ammunition and neither do belt pouches with plain designs look interesting as a pouch for mobile phones. If you intend to travel lots with the belt pouch, ensure that the pouch is made of durable material, and is water proof.
